Proven to deliver exceptional speech comprehension
Bringing the lab closer to real life
Using virtual reality technology in the Audio‑Visual Immersion Lab (AVIL) at Technical University of Denmark, we reconstructed realistic scenarios with simultaneous conversations and background noise. Here, the participants were free to move their heads and bodies to identify and understand one speaker within a group.
In this study, listening to speech was designed to be very challenging. We wanted to investigate if the 4D Sensor technology helped users navigate this type of environment — and by how much. The results showed that Oticon Intent with the 4D Sensor technology switched on improved speech comprehension by 15% compared to when the technology is off, while enabling users to remain open to other speakers.*
